I've met a lot of people who saw The Secret and thought it was fantastic. Many have watched it over-and-over again. Yet there are other people I know who felt the movie was "shallow," "materialistic," "lacked real substance," or even "missed the truth entirely." Personally, I feel The Secret was a great introduction for someone new to The Law Of Attraction and the nature of how we co-create our experience of life. I must, however, emphasise the word introduction. Right?
I've seen The Secret light up the faces of many people like light bulbs. Suddenly anything and everything seems possible—and in many ways it is. Yet I've also seen the gradual and increasing disappointment many people experience when they find themselves "stuck" trying to intend or attract things to happen in their lives and it "doesn't work." Oftentimes it's easier to have not tried attracting new and wonderful things to happen in the first place. As the saying goes, "ignorance is bliss." If I don't know I am creating my experience of reality, then it ain't such a personal disappointment when I don't like the experience I seem to be having.
In the last 15 years or so I've known many people who have used the Law of Attraction for aquiring all sorts of nice things only to find that what they were successfully attracting was not making them any happier, despite having a lot of money rolling in, a beautiful partner, lots of socialising, a car worth over $200K, and a nice house or luxury appartment. What's up with that?
Tthis is where further knowledge is required. As Alexander Pope once said, "A little learning is a dangerous thing..." Sir Francis Bacon said "knowledge is power," and I shall add that a little knowledge often leans towards the misuse of power.
The Law of Attraction is not new to me. I've been aware of it most of my life. It's something I've live with every day. I have exactly what I need in any given moment, and I feel a lot of joy and gratitude pretty much every day. Yet this is not something I try to make happen. In my experience once a person understands and lives by certain key principles and perspectives the LOA does its thing with very little, if any, conscious effort.
After seeing The Secret I was glad to see people opening up to the deeper realities of Life, yet I was also dissappointed to see that the LOA was introduced to them in such a limited fashion.
In that moment I knew I had to put a hold on the series of three books I am presently writing, and for now write an ebook on the deeper aspects of The Secret. It has to be an ebook so that I get it out to people as quickly as I can. There's too much at stake for people to start approaching The Law of Attraction whilst still ignorant of the bigger picture in which this law opperates.
